Before we begin, I thought it was best if we unpacked this acronym. The individual pieces (see what I did there?) speak to a piece of me, my inner peace. Each is a piece of my art. If I am ever pressed for what my vocation is, I say:

About Me
Hi. I bet you’re wondering “what does this guy do?” If you are, I’ll explain. I have been blessed with a certain skillset. I am equally comfortable as an emcee, a storyteller, or an event host, actor, or teaching artist. I have spent many years engaging in all these genres, and I am able to create a unique presentation for audiences from pre-k to college. I am a teaching artist and workshop facilitator in schools all across New England, and I conduct creative writing classes for Middle and High School students.
I am able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts. I am able to synthesize information and present it in artistic ways in order to educate. I believe in the power of storytelling, and its ability to change lives.

I was always interested in poetry. Since the fourth grade, when I wrote my first poem for my mother, I have been writing and performing poetry.
I have had the amazing opportunity to perform in the National Poetry Slam and numerous other poetry venues many times over the course of more than a decade. I competed in Slam at a high level, and I was able to glean many important lessons from this experience.
Being a Spoken Word Artist and a Slam poet has not taken away from the fact that I have a BFA in Creative Writing, and I have taught many groups of young people the art of Slam Poetry, Hip-hop, and the essentials of performance poetry.
My love of language led me eventually to form a group with my business partner and friend, Regie Gibson.
So, whether it’s competitions, workshops and performances, residencies, etc., I am able to help you with your needs.

I am an effective communicator of ideas and concepts. I have been an actor since the age of 15, and I have been very fortunate to have worked with some of the best actors and directors in the business. I am also effective as a keynote speaker, bringing home a particular theme or commemorating an event (Black History Month, National Poetry Month, Dr. Seuss Day, etc.).

Though I have worked in many arenas over the course of my career, acting in the role of entertainer, or “edutainer”, my current role as a member of the Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS) has been most rewarding.
I have been working with a truly remarkable group of some of the best storytellers around and I have been combining all my skills and talents in order to truly adapt my own storytelling style. I can be hired in this capacity to engage any audience in a variety of ways.
